User Commands

Basic commands available to users.


Default Commands

  • away - Set yourself as away.
  • custom - Customize message formating.
  • help - Display this help message.
  • me - Send an action to the world.
  • msg - Send a user a private message.
  • names - List every user in the bot.
  • nick - Use a custom nickname inplace of your username.
  • watch - Get certain users' status changes.
  • whois - Displays a user's info.

Note: Default command prefixes are: / ) ! (ex. /help)


Command Descriptions

Away

Desc:Set yourself as away
Usage:)away [message]
Notes:
  • When you're away you won't get sent messages
  • Sending a message to the bot will make you unaway.

Custom

Desc:Customize message formating.
Usage:/custom <command> <message> [<string>|<preset>]
Commands:
  • Help - Information about each message.
  • List - Display a list of customized messages.
  • Set - Reformat a message.
  • Del - Revert the message to it's original format.
Messages:
  • main - Messages that are sent when people talk.
  • names - The message )names sends.
Notes:
  • A preset is a format set to a single word.
  • The help message for each message has a list of presets.
  • Eventually a list will be made here.

Help

Desc:Display a list of commands.
Usage:)help [message]
Notes:
  • []'s enclose an optional argument
  • <>'s enclose a required argument

Me

Desc:Send an action to the world.
Usage:)away [message]
Notes:
  • Example: )me eats bacon -> Patrick eats bacon

Msg

Desc:Send a user a private message.
Usage:)msg <displayname> <message>
Notes:
  • <username< are incoming messages
  • >username> are outgoing messages

Names

Desc:List all the users in the bot.
Usage:)names
Key:
  • @ - Admin
  • % - Mod
  • - - Away
  • ! - Busy / Idle
  • # - Banned
Notes:
  • Has support for )custom
  • Should be upgraded in the future

Nick

Desc:Set your display name to a custom name.
Usage:)nick [<command>] <nickname>
Commands:
  • list [online|mine] - Lists all or online inuse nicknames and emails and also nicknames you've registered.
  • clear - Use your username as your display name
  • reg(ister) - Register the nickname to your email.
  • unreg(ister) - Release the nickname for others to use.
Notes:
  • Nicknames are automatically capitalized (eg. BaCoN -> Bacon)
  • No spaces are allowed in nicknames.

Watch

Desc:Set who to receive status updates about.
Usage:)watch [<command>] <user name>
Commands:
  • <blank> - Add a user to your list
  • del - Remove a user from your list
Notes:
  • Simply type )watch to see who you're watching.

Whois

Desc:Displays a user's info.
Usage:)whois <username>
Notes:
  • Currently is rather limited. It may be expanded in the future.
