Quick Start Guide
A quick guide to running your bot.
Step 1: Preparation
To start you'll need a few things:
- Download and install Python
- Sign up for a new Google account
- To decide what version of Conference Bot you want to use. There are two to choose from: Original and v2
For the not so computer literate out there you can download the not-so-powerful-but-much-simpler-and-stabler version for the bot which you just need to unzip and run. You can download it from the original Conference Bot site(Direct Link).
If you're feeling brave enough to use a development version you can download the trunk from the Subversion(SVN). For more information on how to do this please refer to the SVN Guide.
Step 2: Setup
Once you've got Python and the bot you'll want to run "runbot.bat" where you'll be prompted for a username, password and the admin email account. Once you're done here you can start inviting users by typing ")invite <username>". Note: You can also have users add the bot to their list.
That's pretty much it! All that's left to do is start chatting with your users.
